Speed Bumps for a Safe University

Speed bumps University of WarwickWe received a call from the Estates Department of an East Midlands University on Wednesday 26th Feb asking for an urgent supply of 15.5 metres in total length of Road Speed Humps. These needed to be in place by the following Wednesday, 5th March.

This gave us the issue of whether we could get these turned around in time to hit their required deadline. The speed bumps are made from a high quality, high density PVC and are fitted in 500mm sections of yellow and black across the designated width of road. They are finished off with curved ‘shoulders’ at each end. Each section is fitted with reflectors for extra visibility at night, have interlocking tabs to keep in line when fixing and are designed to allow cables to run though if required.

These speed bumps will withstand repeated use from vehicles up to 44 tonne HGVs and were supplied in 50mm height, they also come in 75mm height depending on the allowed speed limit on the roads they are fitted to. Installation is relatively easy with all fixtures and fittings included with specific bolts and plugs for installing onto tarmac or concrete roads.

In this instance we had three different widths to fit with overall lengths of 4000mm, 4500mm & 7000mm.

This job was completed on time with minimal disruption due to road closure on the University campus.
