Luton Sixth Form College was established in 1966 as England's first ever sixth form college. The old buildings were later replaced by a £56 million state-of-the-art college building. Annually, about 700 students leave the college to go to university. In total there are over 2200 students.

The building project was nearing completion and there was a need to design, make and install signage around a very large and complex building. It was essential to create a signage system which would make it easy for all users of the building to find their way around. The college had the idea of a colour coded scheme to help visitors around the premises.

The project was advertised for public tender and Signs Now UK was successful in winning the tender against ferocious competition. As 95% of our signage is made and controlled in-house we believe that gives us the edge over the competition in terms of pricing and quality of customer service.

There was an initial meeting with the client where certain design and signage rules were agreed. After the meeting Signs Now carried out a detailed survey of the site including a risk assessment. Signs Now prepared a visual proposal for all signage in the college.

Our work was on a construction site and we had to ensure that all our staff had CSCS cards - which they do.
